Alleging that tobacco products are widely available in the State even today at higher prices, M Tombi urged the State Government and department concerned to arrest and punish all who are taking advantage of the lockdown by smuggling tobacco products and betel leaves from the neighbouring country and States.
He also claimed that though the State Government had assured to punish all who are found manipulating the prices of commodities the same has not been put into practice yet.
So far, 46 stranded Manipuris have registered to the website launched by the State Government for evacuation and many more might still be there who have not registered, M Tombi said and added that rush in evacuation process might prove 'disastrous' for the State.
Suggesting the Government to bring them (the stranded Manipuris) in a phased manner with a gap of at least 2-3 days, M Tombi urged the State Government to be strict when it comes to quarantining of returnees.
Separate quarantine facilities should be opened for those who arriving from Red Zone cities, M Tombi suggested.
