QC with a difference at DMC of Teachers' Education

In a first in Manipur, a local club Thangmeiband United Club (TUC) is setting up separate rooms and toilets for transgender people besides building ramp for differently abled persons at the quarantine centre inside DM College of Teachers's Education campus.
In addition, the volunteers of TUC, under the supervision of Imphal West district administration and Thangmeiband Assembly Constituency MLA, are also engaged in opening a "hygiene bank" and a food bank at the quarantine centre.
According to the volunteers, they are taking up the initiatives of running the centre in a hygienic and systematic way to provide best care to the inmates.
PPEs, masks, gloves, sanitizers, and other sanitary items donated by voluntary organizations and individuals are being stored safely in the "hygiene bank" only to be used by the quarantined people and volunteers.
Vegetables, food and eatables are preserved in the food bank, they said.
"Separate rooms are also being maintained for female and male inmates inside the quarantine centre.
The nurses, ASHAs and police personnel engaged in the quarantine centre have been performing their duties with sincerity and dedication," volunteers said.
Meanwhile, Ya-all, an Imphal based NGO donated medicine kits, comprising of sanitary pads, antiseptic ointments and liquids, paracetamol tablets, bandaid, bandages, ORS powder among others to the "hygiene bank" of the quarantine centre today.
