Noney Legal Aid Clinic distributes food items to migrants

Noney, May 20 2020:
Para Legal Volunteers (PLVs) Noney Legal Aid Clinic under the aegis of District Legal Services Authority Tamenglong, initiated by Tamenglong Chief Judicial Magistrate Len Haokip, distributed food items to migrant labourers/workers who are staying in Longmai, Noney District Headquarters today.
The food items of rice, onion, potato, mustard oil, dal and cabbage were distributed to about 73 migrant labourers.
Face masks made by PLVs Noney were also handed out to those without masks.
The distribution program was assisted by the volunteers of RNYOM Longmai Luangrian, Longmai Nature Club and police personnel of Noney PS.
SP Noney Ningshem Vashum was also part of the distribution.
Meanwhile, various CSOs and individuals have also extended aid in different parts of the State.
Paradise Club aids
Volunteers of Paradise Club, Wangkhei provided breakfast to the returnees who are lodged at the quarantine centre set up in Wangkhei Model High School.
Total number of returnees in the centre is 47 at present and are looked after by 23 staff including medical team, volunteers and security personnel, it added.
Menjor Mangang extends aid to quarantine centres
Kh Menjor Mangang, social worker, extended foodgrains and financial aids to quarantine centres of Khangabok Higher Secondary School, Sangaiyumpham Higher Secondary School and Waikhom Mani Girls College today.
Menjor Mangang appreciated the steps taken by the State Government to bring back the stranded Manipuris who were facing difficulties in different parts of the country.
He will further continue extending aids to other quarantine centres under Khangabok AC as well, it said.
