Pradhan and members of Sonapur GP express resentment over non-release of GRS

The Sonapur Gram Panchayat Pradhan and eleven ward members expressed their resentment over Block Development Officer (BDO), Borobekra Block for not releasing the Gram Rojgar Sevak (GRS) who was transferred to Sonapur GP from Borobekra GP on October 25, 2018, as per an order of Directorate of Rural Development & Panchayati Raj.
The Pradhan and ward members of Sonapur Gram Panchayat stated that on October 25, an order was issued by the concern Directorate for the transfer and posting of GRS between Sonapur GP and Borobekra GP of Jiribam District.
The BDO, Jiribam CD Block has already issued released order to the erstwhile GRS to join his new posting at Borobekra GP.
However, the Block Development Officer (BDO), Borobekra Block has not yet made effective the order of Directorate of Rural Development & Panchayati Raj for the transfer and posting of GRS.
Due to non-released of erstwhile GRS of Borobekra Gram Panchayat by the BDO, Borobekra Block, the said GRS is not able to join the new posting at Sonapur Gram Panchayat although a joining report had already been submitted to the BDO, Jiribam CD Block, it added.
The Pradhan and ward members of Sonapur Gram Panchayat claimed that due to non-released of GRS by the BDO, Borobekra Block, the Sonapur Gram Panchayat are confronted with many hindrances in the various developmental work like MGNREGS, issuing of birth certificate and other special works.
The Sonapur Pradhan and ward members cautioned if the BDO, Borobekra Block fails to issue release order of GRS on or before November 13, 2018, then the general public of the Gram Panchayat may launch stringent movement and any consequence of the movement will be borne by the Block Development Officer (BDO), Borobekra Block.
