State logs 12 deaths, 748 new positive cases

Imphal, June 08 2021:
The state on Tuesday reported 12 fatalities and 748 new positive cases out of 8928 samples tested in the last 24 hours, thus presenting a daily positivity rate of 8.38 per cent.
The addition of 748 new cases has raised the caseload of the state to 9141 of which 4140 are recuperating in home isolation and the remaining 5001 undergoing treatment in healthcare facilities.
So far, 28,388 positive cases and 553 death cases have been reported since the beginning of the current year.
The last seven days witnessed an addition of 5027 new cases and 83 new cases while 5825 new cases and 101 fatalities were reported during the current month.
According to official reports, all the 748 new cases (369 male & 379 female) are from among the general population and their samples were tested at RIMS (22), JNIMS (9), District Hospitals (511) and other testing centres (206) .
The positive cases are from Imphal East (162), Imphal West (205), Thoubal (120), Bishnupur (63), Kakching (52), Ukhrul (2), Churachandpur (66), Chandel (17), Senapati (7), Tamenglong (7), Tengnoupal (17), Kangpokpi (6), Kamjong (2), Pherzawl (4), Jiribam (17) and Noney (1) .

All necessary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.
The State Level Covid 19 Deaths Audit Committee has reported 12 Covid 19 deaths in the last 24 hours.
The district wise fatalities are Imphal West (4), Imphal East (4), Thoubal (1), Bishnupur (1) and Churachandpur (2) .
One of them died at JNIMS, two each at RIMS, Raj Medicity & DH Churachandpur and five at Shija Hospitals.
The cumulative number of deaths is 908.In the last 24 hours, 579 patients were discharged, including 395 from home isolation, 25 from RIMS, four from JNIMS and 155 from other Covid care facilities.
The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 56,576 (general population - 52,809 and CAPF personnel - 3,767) .
Number of recovered cases is 46,527 (general population - 42,767 and CAPF personnel - 3,760) and number of active cases is 9,141 (general population - 9,139 and CAPF personnel - 2) .
The recovery rate is 82.23 per cent.
In the last 24 hours, 1672 D-type Oxygen cylinders and 549 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities.
District Hospitals and government institutions have 354D, 76B filled cylinders.
The district/sub-division wise stock position of medical oxygen is Bishnupur (80D, 5B), Chandel (32D, 7B), Churachandpur (90D, 0B), Thoubal (35D,18B), Ukhrul (27D, 4B), Tamenglong (10D, 5B), Jiribam (35D, 10B), Moreh (17D, 5B), Kamjong (3D,1B), Kangpokpi (5D,0B), Kakching (11D,19B), Noney (2D,0B) and Pherzawl (6D,2B).As of Monday, 4,35,172 individuals have been vaccinated against Covid-19 and out of them 80,953 have received their second dose of the vaccine.
Meanwhile, 42 new positive cases have been detected in Kakching district on Tuesday.
Six cases were detected at Jivan Hospital and 36 at government RAT Centre As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (20,215), Imphal East (13,099), Thoubal (4367), Churachandpur (4227), Kangpokpi (1515), Tamenglong (1896), Bishnupur (3197), Senapati (1270), Ukhrul (1193), Kakching (2453), Chandel (963), Noney (523), Tengnoupal (569), Jiribam (582), Kamjong (426) and Pherzawl (81).Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (337), Imphal East (249), Thoubal (82), Churachan- dpur (69), Kangpokpi (23), Tamenglong (8), Bishnupur (57), Senapati (4), Ukhrul (12), Kakching (43), Chandel (13), Noney (2), Tengnoupal (4), Jiribam (2), Kamjong (3) and Pherzawl (0) .
However, the figure does not match with data released by CMOs of some districts.
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 18,233 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 20,880 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 2,49,581 tests per million population against the national average of 2,64,395 TPM.
Case fatality rate climbed down to 1.60 per cent.
In the past 24 hours, 8928 samples were tested and the single day positivity rate was 8.38 per cent while the cumulative positivity rate further rises to 7.31 per cent.
