Two-bedded wards

The State Government has decided to open two-bedded wards at Moreh, Mao and Jiribam as a part of its measures to prevent outbreak of COVID-19 in the State.
After a State level technical committee was set up yesterday with Health Director K Rajo as the Chairman, Chief Secretary Dr J Suresh Babu chaired an official meeting this afternoon.
The meeting was attended by members of the State level technical committee and high ranking officials of different departments.
The meeting decided to further intensify screening of people coming to the State through surface routes by opening one two-bedded ward each at Jiribam, Mao and Moreh, conveyed one Health official.
The meeting also decided to collect detailed information of all the people coming to the State under a different format.
Details such as places of origin and destinations as well as phone number of all visitors would be collected, informed the official.
According to the official, the meeting further discussed celebrating Yaoshang festival as well as Yaoshang sports and Thabal Chongba just for namesake.
In addition to the isolation wards already created at RIMS and JNIMS, extra wards would be reserved for COVID-19 patients, if the need arises, said the official.
The meeting further agreed to ensure smooth and close coordination among different departments in case any COVID-19 case is detected in the State, added the official.
