Barak type teacher's quarter & Veterinary dispensary inaugurated at Lamlang village

MLA Khashim Vashum today inaugurated Barak type teacher's quarter while Ukhrul Autonomous District Council Vice Chairman M Isaac inaugurated Veterinary Dispensary at Lamlang village, Ukhrul.
After the inauguration, a public meeting was held at Lamlang village community hall.
A minute of silence was observed before the programme as a marked of respect to Late Mashungam, an ADC member from Shangshak DCC, who expired last month.
At the meeting, Khashim Vashum expressed the need to devolve power to Autonomous District Council to bring better grass root governance and ensure development.
"In spite of limited budget allocation to the ADC, proper utilisation of the allocated fund on need-based for the welfare of the people is highly commendable," he said.
Mentioning that ADC election has been deferred for another six months, he urged the peoples not to misunderstand the decision as it was taken for the betterment of the people.
M Isaac Vice Chairman of Ukhrul ADC expressed that the incumbent Councillors have tried best to fulfil people's expectation.
Local Councillor VL Khayinghor, in his keynote address, mentioned that until separate ADC school building is established, Barrack type quarter will be used for dual purpose.
CEO, Ukhrul Polly Makan, headman Lamlang also spoke during the meeting.
Barrack type quarter was constructed under the funding of SPA 2018-19 and the Veterinary dispensary under 14 Finance 2018-19 .
The inauguration function was also attended by EM Edmund Chiphang, Ukhrul ADC member Yangmi Shimray, officers of Ukhrul ADC department, staff and the villagers.
