Mortal remains of Sapam Robinhood to be laid to rest at Awaching

The mortal remains of Sapam Robinhood, who was brutally killed by State security forces on July 8 last during a protest rally, will be laid to rest after consigning to flames on Thursday at Awaching under Imphal East district.
It may be mentioned that Robinhood's body is still lying unclaimed at JNIMS mortuary, Porompat for nearly two months.
During a press meet held at All Manipur Students' Union (AMSU) head office at DM College Campus, the Joint Committee on Inner Line Permit System (JCILPS) Students' Wing convener Oinam Nandababu said that before the last rites, people will assemble at Modern College Campus, Porompat at 9 am.
Then they will walk up to JNIMS mortuary to take the body of Robinhood.
They will then proceed to the residence of the late student martyr at Khurai Lairikyengbam Leikai in Imphal East and a rich floral tribute will be paid to him.
Robinhood, honoured with the name of the 'pioneering light,' was a Class XI student of Ananda Singh Higher Secondary Academy.
A funeral procession will be taken out on the Imphal East Deputy Commissioner Road, which will march up to Awaching at Nongmaiching hill where the last rites of Robinhood will be performed.
The convener of the JCILPS-Students' Wing appealed to people from all walks of life including students from schools, colleges, university and other institutes to participate in the funeral.
