Last rites of Sapam Robinhood at Awa Ching

The last rites of Sapam Robinhood will be performed on September 3 at Awa Ching, Imphal East district.
Addressing a press meet at AMSU Hqtrs, convener of JCILPS Student Wing, O Nandababu informed that the last rites of Robinhood will be held tomorrow at Awa Ching and invited one and all to participate in the ceremony.
Conferred the title 'Lamjing Meira' by the people, Robinhood's body has been in JNIMS mortuary for nearly two months as the JAC formed in connection with the killing refused to claim the body until a Bill similar to ILPS is passed.
As the proposed Bill was passed recently by the State Assembly, he stated that the JAC has agreed to claim the body and perform the last rites.

Urging people to extend their fullest support, Nanda-babu sought cooperation from all transporters associations and agencies, students and parents' organizations in performing the last rites.
Meanwhile, the All Mani-pur Students and Guardian Organisation, All Manipur Recognised Private School Welfare Association, Private School Development Council, Thoubal and All Manipur School Students' Transporters Association assured full cooperation to the funeral service of Robinhood.
Co-convener of Joint Student Coordination Committee S Subhaschandra informed that with the passage of the Bill, the ban imposed on all schools located in greater Imphal area has been lifted and normal class will resume by September 4 .
After series of consultation with the students' bodies and different stakeholders, the JSCC also came up with a fee structure for the two months when classes were not taken.
Accordingly, for two months �July and August, students should pay only 30 percent of their total amount of school fees.
Likewise, teachers should be paid 50 per cent of their salary for the same period by school authorities and for school van service, parents are to pay 50 percent of the total amount for two months.
The JSCC urged the concerned educational institutions including Missionary, Catholic schools and parents to honour and adhere to the fee structure set by the students' body.
