State logs 541 new cases, 12 fatalities; 1120 recover

Imphal, August 02 2021:
The state on Monday reported 12 fatalities and S41 new positive cases of Covid-19 out of 4271 samples tested, registering a positivity rate of 12.67 per cent against 14.86 per cent of Sunday.
Since the beginning of the second wave of the pandemic, the state has recorded 70,472 positive cases and 1204 fatalities out of which 6216 new cases and 91 fatalities were added in the last seven days.
The current month has recorded 1373 new cases and 22 fatalities.
The active caseload has come down to 9814 out of which 4119 (41.97 per cent) are in home isolation, 2881 (29.36 percent) in CHICs, 1778 (18.12 per cent) in CCCs and 1036 (10.56 per cent) in hospitals.
Among the hospitalised patients, 148 are admitted to ICU/HDU wards, 401 are on oxygen support and 71 on ventilator support.
At the same time, 83 patients are also on oxygen support in different CCCs.

As of Sunday night, 61 beds (20 ICU/HDU) are available in government hospitals, 83 beds (25ICU/ HDU) in private hospitals, 9 beds (2 ICU/ HDU) in LF School, 145 beds (15 ICU/HDU) in district hospitals & CHCs, and 1470 beds in different CCCs.
As per official reports, all the 541 new cases (262 male & 279 female) are from among the general population and their samples were tested at RIMS (26), JNIMS (18), District Hospitals (326) and other testing centres (171).The positive cases from among the general population are from Imphal East (119), Imphal West (100), Thoubal (49), Bishnupur (55), Kakching (55), Ukhrul (11), Churachandpur (55), Chandel (8), Senapati (20), Tamenglong (23), Tengnoupal (10), Jiribam (5), Noney (6), Kamjong (2) and Kangpokpi (23).All necessary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.
The State Level Covid-19 Deaths Audit Committee reported 12 Covid-19 deaths in the last 24 hours but no age and gender information have been provided by the committee.
The district wise fatalities are Imphal West (3), Imphal East (1), Thoubal (3), Kangpokpi (1), Kamjong (1) and Churachandpur (3).The cumulative number of deaths has reached 1578.Out of 12 deaths reported on Monday, two had first dose of Covid-19 vaccine and five had no co-morbidities.
In the last 24 hours, 1120 patients were discharged from home isolation (568), RIMS (47), JNIMS (15), CCCs (227) and CHICs (263) .
The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 99,872 (general population - 95,884 and CAPF personnel - 3,988).Number of recovered cases is 88,480 (general population - 84,544 and CAPF personnel - 3,936) and number of active cases is 9,814 (general population - 9,767 and CAPF personnel - 47).The recovery rate is 88.59 per cent.
In the last 24 hours, 1998 D-type and 279 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities.
Only 3271 vaccine doses were administered on Sunday and the cumulative number of vaccinated individuals has reached 11,10,318 including 2,13,240 of them who have got both doses of Covid-19 vaccine.
Meanwhile, 33 new positive cases were detected out of 145 samples tested from Sunday 2 pm to Monday 2 pm in Kakching district.
Three cases were detected at Ema Hospital, four at Jivan Hospital and 25 at different government RAT sites.
One of the patients is from Chandel district, two from Thoubal and the remaining 30 are residents of Kakching district.
Report from DSO Kakching stated that the district has 595 active cases out of 5684 total cases.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (33,336), Imphal East (22,363), Thoubal (8391), Churachandpur (8521), Kangpokpi (2399), Tamenglong (2813), Bishnupur (7382), Senapati (1803), Ukhrul (1760), Kakching (5633), Chandel (1947), Noney (848), Tengnoupal (957), Jiribam (958), Kamjong (565), and Pherzawl(l96).Fatalitys counts in different districts are Imphal West (536), Imphal East (373), Thoubal (147), Churachandpur (137), Kangpokpi (51), Tamenglong (12), Bishnupur (147), Senapati (6), Ukhrul 19), Kakching (95), Chandel 130), Noney (3), Tengnoupal (10), Jiribam (7), Kamjong (4) and Pherzawl(0).However, the figure does not match with data released by CMOs and DSOs of some districts.
The state health authority is not willing to provide district specific case status despite repeated request from media.
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 32,186 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 22,736 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 3,53,468 tests per million population against the national average of 3,36,741 TPM.
Case fatality rate stands at 1.58 per cent.
In the past 24 hours, 4271 samples were tested and the single day positivity rate was 12.67 per cent while the cumulative positivity rate rose to 9.11 per cent.
