CCpur police destroy 90 silencer pipes

CCpur, June 29 2020:
Nearly a hundred banned silencer pipes impounded by the Traffic Control Police, Churachandpur in the past one year was destroyed today using road roller.
The exercise undertaken at the campus of Churachandpur Police Station was held under the supervision of SP Amrita Sinha.
A total of 90 modified silencer pipes seized since June 2019 was crushed in the presence of local press and media.
The Churachandpur TCP also seized 28 foreign bikes (Kenbo) during the same period and handed them over to Customs Department, Imphal Division, an official source said.
It further added that since June 2019, the TCP CCP have issued a total number of 2,273 TR-5 challans and collected fines to the tune of Rs 8,40,400.While interacting with the press on the sidelines of destroying the silencers, Amrita appealed all to uphold the law, saying that the existence of rule of law is a sign of progress in the society.
She further exhorted the public to always wear helmets for their safety and avoid triple riding.
Following traffic regulations like avoiding wrong parking, following one-way traffic in the main town, not taking U-turn where not permitted, and avoiding unloading during restricted hours from 8 am to 6 pm are some regulations she said need to be strictly adhered with.
The SP was assisted by Lawrence K Munluo, Addl SP (Ops) and James Vaiphei OC TCP of the district.
