Imphal, April 22 2011:
The GOI is playing a secret agenda to pulverize the indigenous people of the state by turning a blind eye in the flux of migration in the state from other parts of India including illegal migration, alleged social activist L Bimol today.
Addressing a public meeting on Public Participation in resolving Manipur-India Conflict held at Phoijing Community Hall organised by the Phoijing Awang Leikai Apunba Nupi Luptoday, Bimol said that many non Manipuris are entering the state every year.
If there is no revolutionary party in the state, no indigenous people might have the opportunity to rule the state like they do today.
There were incidents of non Manipuris preparing to contest general election in some assembly constituencies.
After India forcefully merged Manipur into its constitution, the country has not done anything for the people of the state to enable them to sustain their lives on their own except some development work in road transport and luxurious field.
Today Manipur has become more like a beggar depending on other state to feed its stomach.
This is all because of the dirty politics of the country, he alleged.
GOI is looking Manipur and the whole NE region as a warfield.
Expressing serious concern on the situation, Bimol urged the people of the state to actively participate in resolving the Manipur-India conflict.
If not resolve the conflict situation timely, then no one will be able to save the indigenous people of the state from extinction, he added.
In a speech, advocate Angomcha Araba urged the indigenous people to stop the demand of a separate homeland.
President, Phoijing Awang Youth Club Ningombam Ranjit, retired lecturer Khuraijam Bikram, president Phoijing Awang Apunba Nupi Lup Ningthoujam Ibemhal and councilor ward number 3, Nambol Municipal Council Angom Bimol also attended the meeting as presidium members.
The meeting also resolved to press the government to hold plebiscite to solve the present conflict with full public participation.
It also resolved to request various international right groups and the United Nations for their cooperation in resolving the present Manipur India conflict situation.
