Noney, May 17 2018:
The Nungba Sub-Division Joint Action Committee, RNCM Lwangba Luangrian and Nungba Area Women Society today condemned the State Government for 'not implementing fully' the National Food Security Act in the Sub-Division.
Alleging that the people of Nungba are 'deprived' of the services/benefits under the National Food Security Act, the organisations asserted that the soaring price of superfine rice (Rs l,700/50kg bag) and limited stocks (superfine rice) is 'crippling and grilling' the daily lives of the people.
The organisations appealed the Government to fully implement the National Food Security Act and make necessary arrangements to counter the limited stock of rice available in the Sub-Division.
The organisations cautioned the Government that they will stage mass agitation and event resort to blocking the NH-37 if their appeals are not met.
