Mock exercise on disaster management conducted at Thoubal

Thoubal, May 08 2019:
A combined team comprising personnel of State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and 12th Battalion National Disaster Force (NDRF) conducted a mock exercise today on how to rescue people when natural disaster like flood hit a particular area at Arong river that flowed pass through Athokpam-Khangabok area in Thoubal district.
The mock exercise was jointly organized by Relief and Disaster Management Department, GoM; 12th Battalion NDRF, Doimukh, Arunachal Pradesh; SDRF Manipur in association with District Administration Thoubal; Thoubal Municipal Council; District Health Society Thoubal; District Hospital Thoubal; Thoubal Police; Traffic Police Thoubal: Indian Red Cross Society Manipur; Fireservice etc, at Arong river along the stretch between Athokpam Makha Ibudhou Arong Ningthou and Ibenthou Shandrik Chaningkhombee Shanglen.
In the mock exerice, pesonnel of SDRF Manipur and 12th Battalion NDRF, Doimuk, Arunachal Pradesh displayed various methods and ways to rescue persons affected by flood.
The mock exercise was conducted in the presence of Commandant (Medical), 12th Battalion NDRF, GM Sharma; Branch Officer (Relief) Thoubal District, M Ranjeeta Devi; Documentation cum Research Officer, Disaster Management Department, Manipur, AK Ranjitkumar; Team leader, 12th Battalion NDRF, Inspector Leivon Brojesh; Team Commander, SDRF Manipur SL Thangjapao Vaiphei; SDPO Yairipok, E Lalringam Pulante; Amin OC TPC, Traffic Thoubal, Md Bani; MO- CHC Yairipok, Dr H Ibochouba; Dr Thokchom Bakimchandra, Indian Red Cross Society; DPM, DHS Thoubal, Ch Bashanta; Youth co-ordinator, NYK Thoubal, L Marjitkumar and other distinguished persons.
