ICRS training held at Ukhrul

With an attempt to sensitize the public on the activities of Indian Red Cross society, a two-day training programme was held at TTA Hall Hamleikhong, Ukhrul since yesterday where committed youths and higher secondary students registered participation.
The training was mainly emphasized on the basic idea of first Aid, disaster management and the role of responders in any eventuality.
The two days training programme was organized by Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS), Ukhrul district Branch under the sponsorship of Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS), National Headquarters, Delhi.
Experts from the State and District have thoroughly imparted the basic knowledge of disaster management and combating methods and first aid.
Today 32 responders were awarded the "Certified First Medical Responder certificate" by the Red Cross Society of India.
In the closing programme today, Dr Y Meghachandra, Coordinator, Disaster Management of IRCS, Manipur spoke about the duties and responsibilities of the Red Cross members.
He said that Manipur is among the list of 12 identified Disaster prone areas of the country.
The certified responders should now prepare to render their voluntary service in any time across the country whenever the need arises.
The Secretary of Ukhrul District Red Cross Society extended gratefulness to the State Red Cross Society for extending their expertise during the training.
