All set for cultural extravaganza

As a part of the Manipur Sangai Festival 2017, there would be cultural extravaganza at different venues and all preparations have been completed, said Art and Culture Commissioner M Lakshmikumar.
Speaking to media persons at his Secretariat office today, Lakshmikumar said that cultural programmes would be presented at 6/7 venues including BOAT, Hapta Kangjeibung, MSFDS auditorium, Khuman Lampak Sports complex and Lamboi Khongnangkhong.
Apart from cultural dance and music programmes, there would be 5th International Film Festival, Shumang Leela Festival and a symposium on culture which would be organised by Manipur University of Culture.
In addition to films from different countries, award winning films of the State will be screened at the International Film Festival to be held at MSFDS auditorium.
A food court will also be opened at the auditorium and there would be an interaction programme called Meet the State in between.
As for the light and sound show which would give a graphical representation of Manipur's history on the surface of water inside Kangla Fort, a trial was held tonight.
The date or schedule for presentation of the light and music show would be fixed after tonight's trial, Lakshmikumar said.
Informing that all preparations for the President of India's visit to INA complex Moirang have also been completed, he said that images related to the culture of Manipur would be screened on a floating stage at Takmu using laser beam.
