With the use of various alleged unfair means including muscle and money power by the Congress and UG groups in the hills, Kim Gangte, President of Manipur State Trinamool Congress, has expressed uncertainty over the performance of her party in the recently held election.
Speaking to Hueiyen Lanpao, Kim Gangte said that since the Congress and various UG groups in the hills have resorted to all kinds of unfair means in the 10th Manipur State Assembly Election held recently, the number of Trinamool Congress candidates who would come out successful cannot be predicted.
She also pointed out that although the ECI has monitored and controlled the expenditures including expenditures incurred on campaigns, advertisement and meetings, yet it is unable to control the expenditures made by the candidates on the voters personally.
In the recently held election, the ruling Congress candidates have widely used muscle and money power to win the election.
In the hill districts of the state the Kuki militants groups that are signatories to the SoO and NSCN-IM threatened electorates to vote in favour of their candidates and violated their voting rights, she alleged.
