The Zeme Council North East India has strongly condemned the abduction and subsequent murder of Late Athuan Abonmai, former president Zeliangrong Baudi (AMN) on September 22 at Tamenglong DHQ.
A release issued by Zeme Council North East India stated that the brutal murder was carried out by armed miscreants in a high security zone at an event where the Chief Minister of Manipur was attending.
It stated the inhuman and gruesome act which was unthinkable in a modern and civilized society ought to be condemned by every right thinking citizen.
The council also appealed to the Government of Manipur to 'leave no stone unturned' and bring the perpetrators to justice.
It also extended support to the demands put forth by the Joint Action Committee against the brutal killing of Athuan Abonmai.
The council further conveyed its heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace.
