In connection with the death of Mohamad Sharif Ahmad, a JAC has been formed and a public meeting was conducted at Lilong Haoreibi Turel Ahanbi at around 2 pm today.

Setting August 25 as the deadline for fulfilling the demands, the JAC made it clear that the body of Mohamad Sharif Ahmad would not be taken by the family members and various intense agitations would be launched with the co-operation of other CSOs in the state if the demands were not met.

So, it is a matter of serious concern as to how a student of Cotton College staying in the College Hostel, was found dead along the railway tracks in Balakoba railway station near New Jalpaiguri in West Bengal.
He may have been picked up by miscreants and later killed and abandoned at the spot.
As such the State, Assam and Union Government should bring out the truth behind the incident by August 25, Zakir Hussain demanded.
