The workers are now agitated due to non-release of the abducted officials, and they are also apprehensive that such similar incident may happen again.
The source further said that the company which is undertaking the railway project is not in a position to provide ransom to the underground outfit for release of the two abducted officials.
The workers and officials of Coastal Projects have already filed an FIR with the police, and intimated the NF Railway and State Government on this incident.
However, no action has been taken up by the authorities concerned so far.
Revealing the modus operandi of the underground outfit involved in demanding ransom, the source said that the outfit would first create fear psychosis among the workers and officials by assaulting them and damaging costly machineries of the company.
The underground outfit would then abduct officials and workers to demand huge ransom to the tune of crores of rupees.
The family members of the abducted officials recently came to Jiribam and met different authorities pleading for their safe release.
The workers and officials of Coastal Projects have expressed dissatisfaction at the State Government and NF Railway for remaining as silent spectators on such sensitive issue.
The source also mentioned that the Central and State Governments have been urged to take up necessary measures to ensure safety and security of the workers and officials deployed at different work-sites for this important railway project.
