Imphal, May 11 2019:
The body of Khunjamayum Arun Meetei (45), currently at JNIMS morgue, will be disposed if it is not claimed within 4 pm of May 13, informed an order of the Additional District Magistrate, Imphal East district today.
The body is in highly decomposed state and may cause health hazard to all the staff working in JNIMS mortuary, said the order.
It may be mentioned that K Arun was found some half a kilometre away from his residence at Bamon Kampu Makha Leikai Siphal Lou, under Irilbung PS in the morning of April 23 and on the same day, his wife Helen and Pradhan N Rabi were arrested in connection with the case as prime suspects.
The body of Khunjamayum Arun still remains unclaimed since April 23, following the stand of the JAC and the family members not to claim the body until and unless the remaining culprits are arrested.
Protesters had staged agitation and blocked half of the Imphal Ngariyan road recently demanding arrest of the culprits.
