After, refusing to spare a sitting judge to conduct judicial inquiry into the July 23 incident, acting Chief Justice of the Gauhati High Court has sent an official intimation regarding its inablity to assign a sitting judge, an official source said today.
Chief Minister, O Ibobi who returned from New Delhi to Imphal today convened a meeting with some senior cabinet ministers and reviewed the latest development in the prevailing situation in the state, the source said.
The meeting also discussed search for a retired judge to conduct the judicial inquiry as announced by the government.
The state government wanted the inquiry to be conducted by a judge from outside the state though one retired chief justice and one retired judge were said to be available in the state.
