The Rongmei Lu Phom has urged upon the State Government to reopen the Jiribam sub-jail.
A team of RLP led by its president Panti Gonmei visited the Jiribam sub-jail recently and found that the existing infrastructure was fit for a central jail, said a press release.
The RLP also conducted a public meeting with representatives of Jiri Ima Meira Paibi Apunba Lup (JIMPAL), Apunba Jiri Meira Paibi (AJMP), All Jiribam United Clubs' Association (AJUCA), Jiri Development Organisation (JDO), central and Jiri local committees of RLP.
The meeting decided to exert pressure on the Government to reopen the Jiribam sub-jail.
The RLP also appealed to the Government to repair or reconstruct dilapidated bridges along NH 53, Kaimai area.
Highlighting these demands, a memorandum has been submitted to the Chief Minister today, added the release.
