4 candidates face criminal cases

Imphal, March 29 2019:
Out of the 19 candidates fighting for the Inner Manipur and Outer Manipur Lok Sabha seats, four are facing criminal cases and five of them are crorepatis as reported earlier.
The four candidates who are facing criminal cases are INC's K James, MPP's Oinam Jugindro, INC's O Nabakishore and Independent candidate Wahengbam Pobitra.
K James is a retired MFS officer.
An FIR was registered against him in 2007 by CBI Silchar Branch but his name is not listed in the FIR.
Although a charge sheet was framed in connection with the FIR, James has not been convicted.
A case was registered at City police station against W Pobitra.
The same police station registered another case against O Jugindro while an FIR was registered at Imphal police station against O Nabakishore.
The total number of voters in Outer Manipur PC which goes to polls on April 11 is 10,06,214 while there are 9,24,698 voters in Inner Manipur PC which goes to polls on April 18.There are a total of 19,375 service voters in the State.
There are a total of 2862 polling stations and they have been categorised into two groups, critical and vulnerable.
Those polling stations which recorded over 90 per cent poll in the last election are categorised as critical whereas those polling stations which recorded over 95 per cent poll in favour of a single candidate are categorised as vulnerable.
The five crorepatis are NEIDP's Ashang Kasar, BJP's Houlim Shokhopao Mate (Benjamin), NPF's Lorho S Pfoze, INC's K James and BJP's RK Ranjan.
