ILP Issue: State-wide protest continues

Demanding implementation of ILP system in the state, sit-in protests under the aegis of Joint Committee on ILPS Manipur were widely held at various places of the state today.
Women agitators staged sit in demonstrations at Thoubal Okram Chuthek and Charangpat market in Thoubal district, while in Imphal East District, protests were held at Pukhao Laipham, Keibi Taretkhul, Pungdongbam Market, Heingang Makha Leikai, Khundrakpam Laibung, Kongba Kshetri Leikai, Kshetrigao, Top Khunou Tinsid road and Sekta market.
Showing solidarity to the ongoing movement, people also demonstrated protests at Sagolband Khamnam Leirak, Kongba, Laphupat Tera, Thanga Chinglak, Nambol Phoijing, Pangong Litan Makhong and Wangoi Keithel.

Meanwhile, police reportedly foiled demonstrations at Laxmi Thongkhong and Leishangkhong Kabui community hall.
Sit-in protests demanding ILP implementation in Manipur were also held yesterday at Uripok Golapati Leirak and Uchiwa Leirak Achouba Lamkhai along with staging a rally.
Supporting the movement for implementation of Inner Line permit system in Manipur, hundreds of Meira Paibis of Thoubal Khekman staged a torch rally at the adjoining areas late night on August 3 .
Rallyists shouted slogans such as 'Save Indigenous People', 'Prevent intrusion of outsiders', 'Leaders should resign', etc.
The massive protest rally organised by Pioneers Club, Khekman and Khekman Meira Paibi Apunba Lup was peacefully held with participation of members of civil organisations.
Participating in the rally, Co-convenor of Joint Committee on ILPS Manipur Md.Kheiruddin Shah pointed out that three Manipuris � one each from Meitei, tribal and Muslim, are representing the State in Parliament.
However, it is unfortunate that ILP demand has not been met in spite of their presence in Parliament, he lamented.
Women leaders also said that people of the state are ready to join any movement related to ILP demand which is for the future generations and also for saving the indigenous people of Manipur from the onslaught of unrestraint influx of outsiders.
