School bags, note books arrive

Tamenglong, November 04 2011:
With an aim to help the poorest of the poor students, Sarva Shiksa Abhyian, SSA Tamenglong has brought as many as 6871 schools bags and 20,000 note books yesterday.
A reliable source said that the school bags and note books are brought to Tamenglong from the budget of 2009 2010 .
Officials of SSA Tamenglong will sit together to select the poorest of the poor students of SC/ST including the disabled students in class I to VIII standard.
It is also said that there are around 600 disabled students in the district.
It is assumed that the bringing of school bags and note books of 2009- 2010 budget was the outcome of the visit of P.Chidambaram, Union Home Minister, O Ibobi Singh, Manipur Chief Minister, W.Rajen Singh, Director Education (s) and RK Tennedy, Jt.
Director Education (s) in the district.
It is worth mentioning here that SSA Tamenglong distributed schools uniforms to the students of government run schools in the district in the early part of this year.
The uniforms were provided to students @ Rs.400 per students.
