Imphal, April 01 2016 :
Joint Students' Co-ordination Committee
(JSCC) has asked the authority and Principal of Thoubal College
to return the fines which have been collected from the students
whose attendance was below 75 per cent with a promise to allow
them to sit in the final semester examination conducted by Manipur
University.
In a statement, JSCC said that office order number 570 of
resolution number 12 of 2011 of Manipur University's Aca-
demic Council clearly mentions that only those students whose
attendence is 75 percent and above can sit in the final semester
examination.
However, the authority and Principal of Thoubal College
have collected fines of Rs 500 each from the students whose
attendence is below 75 per cent with the promise to allow them
to appear in the examination.
As such, they must return the said amount to the respective
students at the earliest, the statement said.
