After a series of meeting and deliberations the Newspaper Publishers' Forum, Manipur has decided to hike the price of all newspapers published in multi-colour with eight pages to Rs 3 per copy from January 1 next year.
Explaining the reason for the decision to hike the price, the Forum in a statement said that there was a sudden hike in the price of newsprint, transporters have increased the transportation cost and the price of all raw material have seen a sharp increase in prices.
Following the increase in the price of newsprint, all newspaper published in other cities (National dailies) have also increased their price, said the Forum.
Appealing for the co-operation of all, the Forum said that apart from the rise in price of raw material, a lot of inconveniences too have to be faced while transporting the same to Manipur.
