PTFC-19, IRCS, IMA, CADA and many others continue COVID-19 awareness drives

Peoples' Task Force For Covid-19, Indian Red Cross Society Manipur State Branch, Indian Medical Association and Association Of Health Health Care Of India have been continuously and jointly organising Covid-19 awareness campaign at various localities and villages in the State.
Today, a Covid-19 awareness programme was held at Pukhao Naharup Awang Leikai Meira Sanglen with the help of Rural Development Youth Club Pukhao Naharup Awang Leikai, said a release of PTFC-19.A similar programme was also held at Ireima Community Hall Pukao with the help of Pukhao Village Development Committee, Pukhao Khabam, it said.
BK Moirangcha, convenor, PTFC-19; N Bimol, co-convenor, PTFC-19; RK Nimai, secretary, IRCS Manipur State Branch; Narendra Ningomba, chairman, IRCS I/E Branch; Dr James Elangbam, secretary, AHPI; K Tombi, advisor, Pukhao Naharup Development Committee; Thounaojam Thoiba, villager of Pukhao Khabam attended the programme as resource persons and presidium members, it said.
Further, a COVID-19 awareness programme was also held at Wakha Community Hall organised by Wakha Youth Club.
Naorem Bino Leima, former member of Wakha; N Bimol, co-convenor PTFC-19; Dr RK Nimai, secy, IRCS Manipur State Branch; Narendra Ningomba, chairman, IRCS Imphal East Branch attended the programme as resource persons, the release further said.
Peoples' Task Force For Covid-19 co-convenor Soraisam Sanjit speaking at the programme said the State has reached an alarming stage with 300 to 400 people who have no travel history reported positive in Covid test.
4/5 deads reported on daily basis has also shown the gravity of the situation.
He said that it is time for the people to take the matter very seriously and perform their civic responsibilities.
Without the people's understanding and support it is impossible to contain the virus, he said.
Until the time a vaccine is invented, people need to follows the measures like physical distancing, wearing face mask, washing hands frequently and using hand sanitizer, etc, he continued.
Saying that public meetings and feastings in connection with the upcoming by-election in five Assembly Constituencies is becoming a risk factor, he appealed the local clubs to make sure that all the Covid prevention measures are followed in their respective localities and avoid unnecessary gatherings.
PTFC-19 volunteers also conducted awareness at Uripok, Rims Road, Nagamapal, Thangmeinand, Sangolband and Keisampat areas.
They appealed the shopkeepers and the buyers to follow the SOP while buying and selling goods.
Meanwhile, as a part of its ongoing COVID-19 awareness drive in various localities and villages in the State, the Coalition Against Drugs & Alcohol (CADA) has organised a COVID-19 awareness programme today at Keirenphabi Mamang Leikai Community Hall, Bishnupur District with the help of CSDS Keirenphabi Unit and CADA Bishnupur District Committee, said a release of CADA.
The programme was attended by Hijam Priyokumar, president, CADA; Tongbram Shyamkishor, ex-ward member, Kha Thinungei GP; Oinam Sorodhoni, president, CADA Keirenphabi Unit; Huiningsubam Basanti, president, CADA Bishnupur District Committee; Tongbram Shamu, member ward no 8, Kha Thinungei GP as presidium members, it said.
Dipanjit Ningthoujam, vice president, CADA, spoke at the programme as a resource person, it added.
Further, CADA also organised a similar awareness programme at Heikrujam Maning Leikai Community Hall, Imphal West District with the help of Heikrujam COVID-19 Committee yesterday, it said.
The programme was attended by Hijam Priyokumar, president, CADA; Konthoujam (o) Radhe, president, CADA Imphal West District Committee; Nongmaithem Hemchand, president, Heikrujam COVID-19 Committee and Loirongbam Parijat, advisor, Heikrujam COVID-19 Committee as presidium members, it said.
Geetchandra Mangang, secretary general, CADA and Dipanjit Ningthoujam, vice president CADA spoke at the programme as resource persons.
Face masks were distributed to the people who attended the programme and CADA volunteers demonstrated the proper way of wearing face mask to the people, it added.
