Four held, stir suspended

The JAC formed in connection with the death of Moirangthem Megha, who was lynched by a mob for kicking an individual acting as a Tangkhul during the Lairoi Numit of Nongpok Ningthou Panthoibi Haraoba, has suspended its agitation after police arrested four individuals allegedly involved in the incident.
According to a press release issued by the convenor, the JAC has been taking up various forms of agitation, including general strike, demanding the authority concerned to take up necessary legal actions against the people involved in the death of Megha on the night of March 7 .
The JAC has decided to suspend its agitation following the capture of four individuals allegedly involved in the crime, it added.
The 4 individuals have been identified as Pukhrihongbam Raju Singh (41) s/o (L) P Ibohanbi of Yairipok Laimanai, Konjengbam Nilakanta alias Nanaocha Singh (24) s/o K Munan ofTop Chingtha Mathak Leikai, Maibam Jiban Singh (24) s/o M Muhindro of Top Chingtha and Laishram Munal Meitei (31) s/o L Pishak Meitei of Top Chingtha Pukhri Achouba Mapal.
It mentioned that the 4 individualshavebeen remanded to police custody till March 19 and the dead body of Moirangthem Megha will be claimed from JNIMS morgue tomorrow.
