Imphal, February 07 2021:
MLA of Kakching A/C Mayanglambam Rameshwor has refuted the allegations of some councillors of Kakching Municipal Council and termed it as a ploy to mislead the public.
Speaking to media persons at his residence today the MLA said that he made a complaint to the MAHUD to conduct the lottery of the 20 new shops in Kakching Market No 1 by Kakching Municipal Council in a fair and transparent manner.
He alleged that the councillors reserved their respective quotas and were planning to conduct the lottery of the remaining shops only which is not called for.
Accordingly Mahud conducted an inquiry regarding the matter and Director of Mahud issued an order on January 30 that the councillors cannot reserve five shops and should carry out the lottery for all the 20 shops by issuing a new notification inviting fresh applications, he added.
He continued that Kakching Municipal Council issued a notice the same day stating that the lottery will be held on February 6 and the tickets issued earlier will be included as well in the said lottery against the order of the MAHUD.
He therefore again complained to the authority concerned in connection with the notice.
Mahud then issued an order on February 4 notifying Kakching Municipal Council to stop the lottery and the EO of the Council issued a notice on the same day that the lottery will be postponed till further notice.
MLA Rameshwor clarified that the lottery was stopped by Mahud since it was being processed in a wrong manner and not by him as claimed by the councillors.
He condemned such acts of trying to mislead the public on media platforms thereby creating differences among the people.
