Imphal, April 23:
Giving a piece of advice on clearing loan taken from banks at the occasion, Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh today inaugurated a sale outlet of the India's first mini-Tata ACE-HT at Thoubal.
The outlet is the joint venture of MGT Motors (P) Limited and Tata Motors.
Since 1999-2000 to March 31, 2007, MGT (P) Limited has reportedly sold a total of 1106 vehicles including 382 trucks, 168 buses, 154 mini trucks, 402 207 DIs in Manipur through its dealership.
Speaking at the occasion, the Chief Minister said development of transport system is essential for development of a place.
The Chief Minister recalled that during early sixties his family had procured a vehicle through bank loan and ' as my conscience did not permit to skip clearing of the loan amount in addition to the insistence of my late father, I paid off the amount well ahead of the due date.'.
That time other loanees were not in favour of clearing such amount, the Chief Minister said.
Stating that most of the loanees do not have the habit of clearing the loan amount taken from the banks, thus discouraging the banks to further loan payment, the Chief Minister called upon the loanees to discard such notion.
The Chief Minister, however, lauded the Manipur Golden Travels (MGT) Finance for giving vehicle (tata) loans with a vision to boost the State's economy.
Chartered Accountant Ksh Kunjabi who was also present at the occasion informed that so far MGT Finance has given loans to 711 (Tata) loanees and except for three to four loanees, others have cleared their loan amount in time.
Managing Director of MGT Finance K Singh said other branches would also be opened at other districts of the State shortly.
