Drugs worth Rs 11.35 Cr seized

Assam Rifles seized a huge quantity of drugs, worth approximately Rs 11.35 crore from a vehicle along Asian Highway (NH-102) yesterday.
At around 1.15 pm today, based on specific input, troops of Assam Rifles stopped a silver coloured Omni Van (MN 01 AG 2412) travelling from Moreh to Imphal for checking.
On conducting a thorough search of the vehicle, white coloured powder suspected to be Heroin (packed in 3 3 packets and weighing around 400 grams), 3,13,000 WIY tablets and orange colour powder suspected to be brown sugar contained in 15 packets weighing around 180 grams, were found hidden under the rear seat of the vehicle.
The vehicle was being driven by one Md Feroz Khan (28), a resident of Ward no 5, Muslim Nagar, Moreh, and he, along with the vehicle and the contraband items, have been handed over to Tengnoupal police.
On the other hand, a team of Narcotics and Affairs of Border (NAB), Manipur, based on a reliable source, arrested three persons for illegal possession of 1,00,000 WY tablets, from Mayai Lambi road, at Sekmaijin Mamang Leikai yesterday.
The arrested persons have been identified as Chanabam ongbi Bala (37), w/o late Ch Anil Singh of Moreh ward no 5, Premnagar, Tengnoupal district, Soirokhaibam Bikram Singh (24), s/o late S Deben Singh and Ningthoukhongjam Nilachandra Singh, both residents of Moreh ward no 4, Premnagar, Moreh PS, Tengnoupal district.
A case has been registered at NAB Police Station and an investigation has been launched, added a source.
