Mother of renowned fashion designer found murdered

In a shocking incident mother of renowned fashion designer Robert Naorem, Naorem (O) Rekha (66), was found brutally murdered.
at her residence at Singjamei Mathak Thokchom Leikai, under Singjamei PS today.
According to the family members, Rekha w/o Dwijamani, was, staying alone at the house and the grim discovery was made by one of the employees of Robert's salon, identified as Samananda (a hairstylist) when he along with one of his colleagues went into the house to freshen up before leaving for work at the salon.
Explaining that he is presently staying at the residence along with Robert's parents, Samananda informed that he, along with Robert, went out of the house at around 8.30 am today as Robert had to catch the morning flight to Bangalore for a fashion show tomorrow.
After leaving Robert at the airport, Samananda claimed that he went to some places for errands which were assigned to him by Robert earlier and after completing his works, he went back to the house along with another colleague so that they could freshen up before heading to the salon.
However, he said that when they reached the main entrance gate, they noticed something odd as it was slightly opened.
Stating the gate usually remains closed on other days, Samananda continued that when they went inside, they discovered some blood stains on the staircase which were dripping from the 1st floor.
When they ran up, they saw Robert's mother, Rekha, lying dead, in a pool of blood at the corridor, with injury marks on her forehead and immediately alerted the people of the locality and also informed Robert's father about the incident as he was in office.
Samananda further explained that gold ornaments such as necklace, rings and earring worn by the victim, were also missing.
On the other hand, Dwijamani, who is also the president of Consumer Dispute Forum, said that today morning, at around 11.15 am, he went to work after having lunch.
He also added that in the morning he had scolded some non local masons who were hired for renovation work at the house, for not doing their work properly and as such the said masons had left the house early.
Soon, a team of Manipur police led by IG Law and Order, Clay Khongsai, arrived at the site and began investigation.
The body was later picked up by a team of Singjamei police and deposited at RIMS morgue.
A case was also registered at Singjamei PS in connection with the case and police began launching a search operation to nab the culprits at the earliest.
The police have also begun checking the CCTV footages of the surrounding areas to find any clues or evidence related to the case.
On the other hand, the locals have strongly condemned the barbaric murder of Robert's mother and they have also appealed to the authorities concerned to book the murderers at the earliest.
On the other hand, according to police source, two individuals were summoned for recording their statements in connection.
