InSIDE-North East director interacts with President

As part of welcoming 2020 and recognizing the commendable work of people in social service sector across India, President Ram Nath Kovind invited Jamkhojang Misao alias Hejang from Saikul in Kangpokpi District, founder director of InSIDE-North East, among others for personal interaction at Rashtrapati Bhawan on January 3.Jamkhojang Misao was selected among the many NGOs from Manipur and the North East region.
Official intimation was made to the State Chief Secretary for a necessary arrangement of his travel and stay during his visit to the Capital.
During the interaction, Misao briefed President Ram Nath Kovind on his flagship programme "Gun2Pen" that aims to make every child an asset of the Nation through quality education and its achievements so far in mainstreaming more than 5,000 young people.
Misao strongly advocated the President that the use of brute force to deal with the menace of insurgency will end only in further alienation of the people.
He also said that Government spends thousands of crores in sending a large contingent of troop to Manipur to fight insurgency, stating that if one by third of the money meant for the fighting insurgency is given to him, he will contribute more and make Manipur the best part of the country to live in.
While thanking the Government for signing Suspension of Operation with the insurgent groups, he urged the President office to ask the Government to expedite the peace talks so that the region will see the dawn of peace and development.
Every child with pen as their vision, InSIDE-North East also plans to start a teacher fellowship programme to make education accessible and inclusive.
