Senapati, January 04 2015:
The Mao Students' Union (MSU) has expressed deep concern over the delay in repairing NH 2 .
The National Highway stretching from Mao gate to Makhan Khuman lies in a deplorable condition thereby posing serious inconveniences to people travelling down to Imphal and back.
The student body said that even though NH 2 is considered the lifeline of the State, no adequate measures have been taken up till date by the Government of Manipur to improve its condition.
However, various local bodies were seen taking up different initiatives on their own including filling up of potholes in the area.
The MSU also asked the authority concerned as to why they remain mute spectators in spite of giving assurances to repair the highway stretch.
The student body further warned that if the competent authority fails to take up necessary action within the shortest possible time, the union would be compelled to launch different modes of democratic agitation.
