A 15 member team of All Assam Manipuri Students' Union (AAMSU) led by its president Seram Herajit Singha reached Imphal on Sunday to tour the historical and religious sites of Manipur.
The team visited INA, Moirang, Sendra, Loktak, and Keibul Lamjao today and visited Kangla, Andro Meihoubi and Singda Dam yesterday.
Speaking to mediapersons, Seram Herajit Singha, president AAMSU said that the educational tour was organised to develop and maintain a friendly relationship between the people of the State and the descendents of those who had left the State during the Seven Years Devastation.
Herajit further said, "We found the State Govt is charging fees for entry, vehicle parking at all the historical sites.
What is important is not what the Government is charging but the fact that the Government has failed to maintain the sites" .
On the other hand, the 158th birth anniversary of Bir Tikendrajit was observed at the residence of RK Ranendrajit, Freedom Editor on Monday.
A team of AAMSU who are on an educational tour also attended the birth anniversary function where floral tributes were paid to the martyr.
