Irabot death anniversary

Lamyanba Irabot Ningshing Thouram Observation Committee (LINTOC) observed the 62nd death anniversary of Hijam Irabot at MDU hall today.
LINTOC Convenor Thounaojam Iboyaima, LINTOC CO-Convenor Joy Nongmaithemcha and LINTOC Co-Convenor Soraisham Dilip Meitei attended the function.
Prof MC Arun of Manipur University, Toknga Editor S Rajen and Social Scientist Dr Dhanabir Laishram delivered lecture as special talkers.
Dr Dhanabir Laishram said that Manipur could have become an independant country in 1961-62 instead of getting statehood in 1972 if Irabot were alive longer.
Manipur will face influx of migrants if the State does not have adequate production of footstuff.
In another occasion, Irabot Research and Commemoration Committee (IRCC), HIM Charitable Trust, All Manipur Intellectual Forum, All Manipur Rickshaw Drivers and Pullers Welfare Association, All Manipur Democratic Women's Front, All Manipur Peasant's Union, Youth League Manipur and Students League Manipur observed the 62nd Death Anniversary of Hijam Irabot with offering floral tribute to his statue located at Pishum.
Among others, IRCC President S Shyamsunder, MAFIF President Ch Gopalmacha and HIM Charitable Trust President H Dilip were present at the occasion, said a press release.
On September 21 last, English translation of Irabot's book entitled, 'Comrade Irabot and Capitalism' was released by Senior Citizens for Society President N Binoy.
