TSLD condemns Salouni murder

Imphal, July 25 2014 : The Tangkhul Shanao Long, Delhi (TSLD) while strongly condemning the killing of Akha Salouni in Delhi said it is disturbed by the ugly trend of killing people from the North East.

"We strongly condemn the killing of Mr.Wilungbou Chawangat Chirag on July 5 and Akha Salouni at Kotla Mubarakpur on July 21 2014," the Delhi based Tangkhul women union said.

TSLD then demands the authorities to investigate the matter seriously and bring the culprit of the crime to justice.

"We appeal the government for setting up of an effective mechanism to curb such hatred violence and killing in future," it appealed.

The TSLD then called upon all individuals and civil organizations of the North East in Delhi to come together to condemn violence targeted against a race which has become a frequent occurrence.

"It is time we as individuals and as civil societies concertedly work together to eradicate such lawless evil discrimination in the society," the TSLD stated.
