Pro-ILPS demonstrations held

Several sit-in protests demanding implementation of ILPS in Manipur were staged at different parts of the State today.
Sit-in protests were staged at Uripok Huidrom Leikai, Lamshang Bazar, Lamboi Khongnangkhong, Samushang Community Hall and Taothong Lamkhai, organised by the Uripok Huidrom Leikai Development Committee Nupi Khunai Lamshang Bazar, Yaipha Thourang Nupi Taothang, Sunshine Youth Club WDYC and Meira Paibis of Taothang and Lamdeng Khunou.
The Nupi Lup, IPC, YDC, YVO and Wangkhei Puja Lampak Nupi Lup have also organised a similar sit-in protest at Thangapat Mapal Community Hall today.
Some other places where similar sit-in protests were staged are Iroisemba Maning Leikai, Iroisemba Mayai Leikai, Naoremthong Khulem Leikai, Uripok Naoremthong Bazar, Uripok Achom Leikai, Uripok Khumanthem Leikai, Uripok Yambem Leikai, Uripok Khoinam Leikai, Gopalji Leirak (opposite to Uripok Laikhulembi Machin) .
The Thoubal Apunba Lup (TAL) also organised a sit-in protest staged at Thoubal Bazar today.
While speaking to the media persons at the Thoubal Bazar sit-in protest, Convenor of JCILPS, Ibotombi Khuman said that due to some problems members of the JCILPS could not attend the meeting which was called by the State Government to discuss about implementation of ILPS in Manipur.
He further stated that according to a news source the State government is planning to call another meeting most probably on September 19 or 20.It would also release some of the arrested JCILPS members today and the rest by tomorrow without any condition.
If the State Government calls for a meeting, JCILPS members would definitely talk to the Government and it would appeal to make a State Law to protect the indigenous people of Manipur.
However, if the meeting could not bring upon a resolution in the indigenous peoples' interest, JCILPS would continue its movement until the demand of ILPS implementation in Manipur is met, he added.
The sit-in protests staged at different parts of Manipur demanded unconditional release of the arrested members and resignation of the ministers who are incapable of making a decision on peoples interest along with implementation of ILPS in Manipur.
