Imphal, June 02 2013:
Reacting to reports in certain sections of the media, the JAC Against the Rape Case of TG Higher Secondary School Student on 20th Oct, 2012 has clarified that one lady had come on February this year to offer help in the case.
In a statement, the JAC said that the lady talked to somebody on the phone and asked the family members to talk over the phone too.
The family members did talk to the person at the other end of the phone and the phone too was given to the victim, but she did not say anything,
said the JAC.
The person at the other end of the phone never said he was from the RPF, said the JAC.
On February 10, 2013, a person who identified himself as a cadre of the RPF repeatedly called up, said the JAC and added that a message was received asking them to come to Moreh.
A message is yet to be still deleted, claimed the JAC.
On February 11, 2013, a caller offered to marry the victim girl, said the JAC and added that they have the audio record.
The JAC also said that it would not be proper to drag in the name of UMO president Soroni in the matter.
The JAC further said that nothing in excess was said during the May 24, 2013 press conference and added that they have the recording.
The JAC never said that the girl who came to offer money and vehicle to settle the case was a cadre of the RPF, it added.
