Lamenting that a complaint lodged by the INC candidate of Andro AC to the CEO and RO was not entertained in the Assembly election, Maqbool, election coordinator of INC candidate of Andro AC Alhaj Md Ahmed Ali, said the party would boycott counting of votes in case the CEO fails to clarify.
Speaking to reporters today at Hatta, Maqbool demanded the reasons as to why the complaints lodged with the CEO and RO on matter pertaining to non-capturing of photos at polling stations and rampant rigging in Andro AC were not entertained.
In case the CEO and RO fail to furnish the reasons to the people particularly the electorates of Andro AC, the party would boycott the counting of votes, he cautioned adding that the CEO and RO would be held responsible for any consequence thereof.
He alleged that in violation of the ECI guidelines, no voter was photographed at booth nos 7/13 and 7/25 apart from rigging at some booths.
The party has lodged a complaint timely.
But that was not entertained to the utter dismay of the complainant.
He added that during the photo comparison process in the presence of observers from the ECI, it was detected that no photograph of voters was taken at 7/13 and 7/25.This apart, only one photo was taken at 7/14 .
When the INC candidate of Andro AC went to Delhi and met the deputy EC, Alok Shukla, it was found that none of the complaint from Andro AC was forwarded by CEO, Maqbool charged.
It was clear that only polling stations chosen by them was included for repoll, he further said.
Demanding clarification from the CEO in this regard, Maqbool said any consequence arising due to boycott of counting by the party would be the responsibility of the CEO.
