Four persons, including two from Manipur, have been arrested for allegedly trading in endangered gecko lizards in Assam's Karbi Anglong district today, police said.
Acting on a tip-off, the police raided a hotel here and nabbed the four persons who were engaged in striking a deal.
Two persons from Manipur had brought the geckos and were selling it to two others in Diphu.
The arrested have been identified as Meghan Singh and Thangam Singh from Manipur, Dhansing Tiso and Debojit Phangso.
The gecko is worth Rs seven lakh each in the international market.
Former DHD chief Dilip Nunisa was arrested on August 14 last after the police recovered a gecko from his vehicle in Guwahati.
