Farmers' training programmes organised at Heingang

Imphal, November 04 2012:
A one-day farmers' training programme on cultivation of horticultural crops was held at Heingang Makha Hannaba Ching community hall today.
The training programme was organised by District Officer, Horticulture and Soil Conservation, Imphal East district under the sponsorship of Department of Horticulture and Soil Conservation's Horticulture Mission on North East Himalayan Region.
Inaugural ceremony of the training programme was held with Imphal East Agriculture Officer L Ranjit as the chief guest while social workers P Tomba and P Mangi graced the occasion as the functional president and guest of honour respectively.
As resource persons, Assistant AO K Devkanta deliberated on 'Organic Farming in Horticultural Crops' while Entomologist (Plant Health) Kh Nimaichand talked on 'Organic Insects and Disease Management of
Winter Crops' .
In another occasion, District Horticulture and Soil Conservation Office, Thoubal under the aegis of Horticulture Mission North East Himalaya 2012-13, organised a training programme on farming of winter crops at Thoubal Kshetri Leikai today, reports our Correspondent.
Subject Matter Specialist of KVK Thoubal, Dr N Tomba Singh gave lecture as a resource person in the training programme attended by around 50 participants.
Same programmes were held at Keirak on November 2 and Kakching Khunou on November 3 .
