Tamenglong, Senapati youth meet President

Children of Tamenglong and Senapati district, who were part of a National Integration Tour, had the privilege of meeting and interacting with President of India Dr Pranab Mukherjee.
The National Integration Tour (NIT) to the National Capital, Delhi had been flagged off on 29 Oct 2012 by Maj Gen K K Sinha, SM, GOC Red Shield Division.
During the interaction, the President expressed that he was very happy to meet the children from Manipur and particularly from the remote districts of Tamenglong and Senapati and said that he had visited Tamenglong and Senapati in early 1970s. The President conveyed that Manipur is an important State of the country that has a rich heritage and culture heritage.
Furthermore, the President appreciated that Manipur has done exceptionally well in the field of sports and extended his appreciation to MC Mary Kom and other Olympians who had done the country proud in the latest Olympic events.
The President also apprised the children that the people of Manipur are excelling in all fields and are doing the nation proud.
He advised the children that they should pick up good things from all parts of the country and implement them in their state.
