A large number of students and guardians were left fuming with the failure of the Reliable Group, Khongman Zone II to conduct Mathematics and Science competition for students of Classes V to IX .
Taking strong exception to the debacle, AMSU has not only banned the group from organising any form of academic-competitions but also asked the group to refund all the money they collected for obtaining and submission of forms.

Speaking to media persons in presence of guardians and members of the Reliable Group, AMSU president Dipanjit Ningthoujam said that the Reliable Group used to invest money in weaving and similar economic activities.
It was the first time the group was organising an academic competition.
But the application forms claimed that it was their second Mathematics and Science competition.
Moreover, it has been found that the Reliable Group is not a registered body.
According to schedule, the competition should be held at Thoubal College and DM College of Science starting from 9.30 am.
Though the competition started on time at Thoubal College, guardians raised an uproar when question papers were brought unsealed at about 11 am at DM College of Science.
For this particular competition, admit cards have been already given to 1500 students belonging to Thoubal, Bishnupur, Imphal East and Imphal West districts.
Each participant was charged Rs 150 if they were competing only in Science or Mathematics subjects.
For those who wished to compete in both the subjects were charged Rs 300 .
In addition, the students were charged Rs 10 each for obtaining application forms.
Dipanjit appealed to all guardians to check whether the organisations which are organising academic competitions have been registered or not.
The AMSU president further declared that the competition held at Thoubal centre has been banned.
