Awareness drive on COVID-19 conducted

Committee on COVID-19 Manipur conducted mass awareness programme at different places to sensitize the street vendors about the precautionary measures against COVID-19.The mass awareness programme was conducted at market places at Mantripukhri, Koirengei, Pheidingga, Tendongyan, Sekmai and Kanglatongbi yesterday.
For today, the awareness drive was carried out at markets of Ngariyan Thongkhong, Ningthoukhong, Lamandong, Keinou and Oinam, said a press release by the Committee.
The volunteers of the Committee advised the street vendors to strictly maintain Covid Appropriate Behaviours for the well being of themselves and for the buyers as well and distributed face masks to the public as well.
Expression concern over the reckless attitude of the public in view of the relaxation of curfew and restrictions, the Committee said though the dreaded COVID-19 pandemic has subsided slightly, it has not been overcome and the risk of a possible outbreak of third is still there.
In view of such situations, the Committee urged the public to adhere to Covid SOPs and protocol and to be extra cautious to tackle the pandemic effectively and to curb the further spread of Coronavirus and to help in making Manipur a Covid free State.
