Jiri/Bpr/Tpl/Tbl, September 30 2019: As observed every year, Jananeta Irawat Memorial Trust (JIMET), Jiribam observed the 123rd Birth Anniversary of Jananeta Hijam Irabot at the Auditorium hall of RK Sanatombi Devi Vidyalaya, Jiribam today in the presence of K Saratkumar Singh, vice-Chairman, Manipur Food Industries Corporation Ltd as chief guest while students from different schools took out march past to show respect to the late leader at Jananeta Hijam Irawat statue, Babupara, Jiribam earlier in the day.

Apart from K Saratkumar Singh, vice-Chairman, Manipur Food Industries Corporation Ltd, the function was attended by Dr Chandam Kamal Singh, Lifetime president, JIMET; Mayanglambam Rajkumar Singh, DC Jiribam District; Ningshem Vashum, Commandent 7th IRB Uchathol Jiribam; AK Sadananda Singh, Addl SP (Ops), Jiribam District as presidium members.

The observance function began with the paying of floral tributes and respect paid to the statue of Lamyanba Hijam Irabot followed by the march past parade by 32 contingents comprising students from various schools of Jiribam which include 24 march past contingents grouped into special, senior boys, senior girls, junior boys and junior girls contingents and 8 cultural troupes to mark the celebration.

Later, the main observance function of the late leader was held at the Auditorium Hall of RK Sanatombi Devi Vidyalaya, Jiribam in the presence of the presidium members.

Speaking at the occasion, chief guest K Saratkumar Singh sought support from all sections of the society to the initiative taken up by CM N Biren Singh in line with the wish and aspiration of Lamyanba Hijam Irabot who work for the upliftment of poor people, marginalised group and students.

In his speech as functional president, Dr Chandam Kamal Singh said that during the month long observation of Hijam Irabot birth anniversary, various awareness programme on the life of the late leader were conducted in different schools of Jiribam to make the students aware of the critical role played by Jananeta Hijam Irabot for a prosperous and equitable society in Manipur since September 1 till today.

He further said that Hijam Irabot was a prominent leader which is known across the country.

Special guest Mayanglambam Rajkumar Singh, DC Jiribam District said that Jananeta Hijam Irabot dedicated his life for the prosperity of his countrymen adding that if we put service towards nation above all then we will be remembered by the generations to come.

As such, everybody specially the students should think of future and other persons while executing any work.

As part of the function, chief guest K Saratkumar Singh donated one Sony HXR-NX80 Camera to Jiri News Network (JNN) to address the plight of the newspersons of the agency.

Simple gifts and prizes were also distributed to many outstanding individuals during the function to honour and acknowledge their valuable contribution for the betterment of Jiribam district.

Prizes were also distributed to the winners of march past competition held in connection with the observance function by the presidium members.

In Junior Boys category, New Life Acadamy, RK Sanatombi Devi Vidyalaya and Jiribam Model High School secured 1st, 2nd and 3rd position respectively while for Junior Girls, RK Sanatombi Devi Vidyalaya, New Life Acadamy and Kastruba Girls High School clinched the 1st, 2nd and 3rd position respectively.

Jiribam Higher Secondary School, Highway English School and Jiribam Model High School were the top three winners in Senior Boys category while Highway English School, RK Sanatombi Vidyalaya and Jiribam Model High School registered 1st, 2nd and 3rd position respectively in Senior Girls category.

BISHNUPUR: The 123rd Birth Anniversary of Lamyanba Hijam Irabot was also observed in different parts of Bishnupur district today.

On the day, 3-days cleanliness camp was commenced at Konjengbam Maning Leikai during which Councillor Hemam (o) Romabala Devi planted tree saplings to kick start the camp.

The cleanliness drive was organized by Youth Development Organisation, Moirang Konjengbam Leikai under the sponsorship of MLA Moirang AC P Sharatchandra, Councillor H (o) Romabala and social workers of the locality - H Tomboy, H Shyamkumar, N Bijen.

During the 3-days social service camp, tree plantation drive, cleaning of local ponds and road side will be reportedly carried out.

Meanwhile, United Library and Sports Organisation, Ngaikhong Shiphai also organized observance function of 123rd birth anniversary of Jananeta Hijam Irabot at Ngaikhong Shiphai Mamang Leikai Community Hall.

The function was attended by ex-MLA Oinam AC Dr I Ibohanbi; social scientist Dr Danabir Laishram; Ngaikhong Khullen GP pradhan M Bala Devi; AAO, MDS S Dinesh among others as presidium members.

On the other hand, a tree plantation campaign jointly organized by the Youth Development and Cultural Association Tronglaobi, Public Relations Organisation Tronglaobi and Group Unity Strength Tronglaobi from Khudekpi bridge to Meikambi along Tiddim road since August 20 in connection with the 123rd birth anniversary of Hijam Irabot culminated with a simple function held at Tronglaobi Makha Leikai Community Hall.

The function was attended by pradhan Tronglaobi Terakhongshangbi GP L Basanta Singh; MO in-charge CHC Moirang Dr Kh Umananda Singh and ward member Ningombam Surbala Devi as presidium members.

About 600 tree saplings were planted in the drive which began from August 20 .

TENGNOUPAL: Lamyanba Hijam Irabot Celebration Committee Moreh also observed 123rd birth anniversary of Lamyanba Hijam Irabot at Ima Kondong Lairembi Haraobung in Moreh ward no 7 .

The function was attended by Lamboi Gangte ADC member Chandel; L Manikanta ADC Moreh; T Bijando, SP Customs Preventive Force Moreh; Kh Robinsun, ASP (LO); M Thoiba, president MCM; Th Budha, president ACODOM; N Meiraba, president AMSU Tengnoupal District Committee; Th Ibemhal Leima, president Kha-Nongpok Apunba Nupi Lup; T Premabati, vice-president Nupi Khunai Chaokhat Lamjing Lup; Manindra Konsam, Sr Journalist as dignitaries.

Floral tributes and respect were paid by the dignitaries and the public to the photo of the late leader during the function.

THOUBAL: Cleanliness drive and awareness campaign were conducted at Urban Water Supply Scheme, Yairipok Bishnunaha in connection with Irabot Day and Swachhata Hi Seva today.

EE PHED Thoubal Division Ksh Tombi Singh and Kaminikumar Keisham spoke as resource persons on 'Solid Waste Management' in the programme attended by many community leaders.

IMPHAL: Members of Manipuri Cultural Complex, Bangladesh and Patriotic Writers Forum (PAWF), Manipur jointly planted tree saplings in and around Manipuri Cultural Complex in connection with the 123rd birth anniversary of Lamyanba Hijam Irabot at Tetaigoan Moulbibazar, Bangladesh since 8.30 am today.

The tree plantation drive was conducted in the presence of president PAWF, Yaiskul Khwairakpam; Secy Rakesh Naorem; Convenor Manipuri Cultural Complex L Joyonta Singh; Cultural Secy Ibungohal Shyamal; former president All Manipur Student Union, Manjit Sarangthem and eminent Sanaton Ningthouja.

Integrated Manipuri Association (IMA), Bangladesh also organized the observance function of the the birth anniversary of the late leader in the presence of president PAWF, Manipur Yaiskul Khwairakpam as chief guest; president IMA Bangladesh, Khoirom Indrajit as functional president.
