Manipur Equestrian Association to receive military horses

The Equestrian Federation of India (EFI) has agreed to provide six trained Indian Army horses to Manipur Equestrian Association (MEA).
A press release issued by MEA said that the assurance was given during the 58th Annual General Body Meeting of the EFI held at Delhi on September 28 .
The assurance was given after the president of MEA, Lt Col M Ranjit (retd) requested the EFI to extend technical support and provide horses from the Indian Army for the improvement of equestrian sports in Manipur, it said and added that M Ranjit also highlighted the talents of Manipur riders and the laurels won at different equestrian championship during the meeting.
The statement continued that the president of EFI, Lt General Gopa R, who chaired the meeting, also handed over 50 micro chip readers to MEA for DNA identification of Manipur ponies.
