Imphal, January 27:
In pursuit of their demand for payment of allowances on par with nurses of Central Govt establishments, the Nurses Association of Manipur has urged the State authorities to do the needful within january 31 failing which indefinite ceasework strike will be launched from February 4 .
While expressing strong resentment over the State Government's alleged callousness to the Association's proposal for egalitarian treatment and allowances of nurses similar to those being enjoyed by their Central Govt peers, the Assn informed that State authorities had already been intimated on the matter since 1999.It also sought support to the cause from Dept concerned and other medical personnel.
